What we ask for when you sign up, what we do with it, and how to get yourself off the list. In plain language, because you should not need a lawyer to find out what a campaign knows about you.
Who this is about
This site, ariana4fresno.com, is run by Martinez Lott for City Council 2026 (FPPC #1479179), the committee supporting Ariana Martínez Lott’s candidacy for Fresno City Council District 7. Where this policy says “we” or “the campaign”, that is who it means.
What we collect
What you type in
The Get Involved form is the only place on this site where we ask you for anything. It asks for:
- Your first and last name, which are required.
- Your email address, which is required.
- Your cell phone number, which is optional.
- Which ways you would like to help — endorsing Ariana, displaying a yard sign, being listed publicly as a supporter, or hosting a fundraiser. All optional.
You decide how much of that to fill in. Leaving the phone number and every checkbox blank still signs you up for email updates, and that is a perfectly normal thing to do.
What gets recorded without you typing it
When you submit the form, our forms software also stores the IP address you submitted from, the identifying string your browser sends about itself, the page you submitted from, and the date and time. We keep that to investigate spam and abuse, not to profile you.
Our web host keeps ordinary server logs of requests to the site. Our security plugin records IP addresses associated with failed attempts to log in to the site’s administration area.
The spam check
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which works out whether a submission is coming from a person or an automated script. To do that, Cloudflare receives information about your browser and device. Cloudflare states that it does not use this information to build advertising profiles. Their policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how the site is being used — which pages get read, roughly what part of the world someone is in, and what kind of device they are on. It tells us that a page was read. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not join it up with the details you give us on the form.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends that information to Google, which processes it for us. Google does not receive your name, email address or phone number from this site.
This site is not connected to Google Ads or to any advertising product, so nothing collected here is used to target adverts at you, here or anywhere else. People logged in to administer the site are excluded from analytics entirely.
Google explains what it does with this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. If you would rather not be counted, install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block analytics cookies in your browser. The site works exactly the same either way.
We also use Google Search Console, which reports which search terms lead people here. That is aggregate information about searches, not about individual people.
What we do with it
- Send you campaign updates by email.
- Get in touch about the specific ways you said you would like to help.
- Send you campaign text messages, if you gave us a cell number.
- Keep the site secure and keep spam out of the form.
That is the whole list. We do not use what you give us for anything unrelated to this campaign.
Text messages
By giving us your cell phone number you consent to receive calls and text messages from Martinez Lott for City Council 2026, including pre-recorded messages and messages sent using automated systems. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help.
Agreeing to texts is not a condition of supporting the campaign. Leave the phone field blank and you will still get email updates.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not rent, trade or swap our supporter list. Campaigns are asked to do this and we do not do it.
Your details are handled by the services that run the campaign’s operations:
- Zoho holds the supporter record and sends the campaign newsletter. Submissions are added to Zoho CRM and enrolled into Zoho Campaigns from there. See zoho.com/privacy.
- Hostinger hosts the website and its database.
- Cloudflare provides the spam check on the form.
- Google provides the site’s analytics and search reporting. It receives information about pages viewed, never what you type into the form.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, including California campaign finance reporting, or where we need to protect the safety and rights of the campaign and its volunteers.
Being listed as a supporter
If you tick “endorsing Ariana” or “being listed as a public supporter”, you are giving us permission to publish your name as a supporter of the campaign, including on this website. We will not publish your email address, phone number or home address. Change your mind at any time and we will take your name down.
Donations
This website does not take donations and never asks for card details. The donate links hand you over to Anedot, a separate platform with its own privacy policy and terms, and anything you enter there is covered by Anedot’s policy rather than this one.
Be aware that political contributions are not private in the way an ordinary purchase is. California law requires committees to report contributor details, including name, address, occupation and employer above certain thresholds, and those reports are public records.
Cookies
We set no advertising cookies, and nothing here follows you around other websites.
Google Analytics sets cookies that count visits and tell a returning reader from a new one. The Analytics section above explains what that involves and how to refuse it. Cloudflare’s spam check may set a cookie that it needs in order to work, and WordPress sets cookies only for people logging in to administer the site.
How long we keep it
Submissions stay in the site’s database and in Zoho for the life of the campaign, and afterwards for as long as California campaign recordkeeping rules require. Ask us to delete you and we will, apart from anything we are legally obliged to keep.
Your choices
- Stop the emails. Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any campaign email.
- Stop the texts. Reply STOP to any message.
- See it, fix it, or delete it. Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or erase it.
- Stop being counted in analytics. Use Google’s opt-out add-on or block analytics cookies in your browser.
If you live in California, we will honour requests to know, correct and delete whether or not the California Consumer Privacy Act formally applies to a candidate committee, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us. No website can promise perfect security, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the new version here and change the date at the top of the page.
